Having had the opportunity to work with some very stylish individuals last year, all from my beautiful city of Kamloops, I was eager to showcase both the area and these beautiful ladies (both inside and out) in my upcoming column for Outdoor Photography Canada Magazine.  I had just finished writing my feature article, ‘Creating Unique in the Iconic – Iceland’, which will be mostly landscape based in the way of imagery, so for the column I wanted to go in a totally different direction with a portraiture theme.  The column will deal with components including:  Expressions, photographer and subject styles, posing, locales that fit the concept and using natural back light to create an emotive finished product.

I love to showcase great people and these three fit that mold perfectly with positive energy and an easy going nature so easy to be around, they worked hard, were open to ideas and concepts and had fun during the shoot, which makes my job even easier and more rewarding.  Growing up in the area, being away for several years and then coming back only makes me prouder to also get the opportunity to showcase the surroundings, including Sun Peaks Resort.  So to feature an entire article on Kamloops depicting three of its own felt like a bit of an exposition, but hey, I think they and the city deserve it!  Thanks to Ashley, Carlyn and Teneille for these images which will appear 🙂  The issue (Spring), should be on the shelves in a few weeks time.
