I’ve always said, that for a 45 minute drive to Sun Peaks, it seems as though you’ve hopped on a 6 hour flight and jumped out into a magical wintery resort in another part of the country.  But, as luck would have it, the resort is in our backyard and I relish every visit I get to make, especially when I’m partnering up with the hard working crew at Sun Peaks Resort and Tourism Sun Peaks.  In the last week before the holiday I was fortunate to work with both.

The first shoot started with TSP and a day’s worth of shooting their holiday kick-off weekend, including village, shopping, skating, pub and outdoor patio dining content.  I have to say that through all the years that I’ve been fortunate enough to work at the resort, every single shoot has been coordinated and laid out beautifully, another reason why I love working up there; and these last two were right on par.  I was given prep information and content from Krystal Kehoe, Senior Specialist of Marketing, who did a great job setting things up, and worked alongside the bright and bubbly Corry Bondini, Coordinator of Marketing, who made my job much easier and a ton of fun.  The weather was great to work with and the models were fantastic.  A couple of highlights for me were the NHL sized ice rink and the new firepit tables at Morrisey’s Public House, both of which you’ll see in the images below.

The second shoot within that week was with the Sun Peaks Corporation including aerial photography, flying with Highland Helicopters, inc.  The content of this shoot was mostly for the new maps that will be coming out in 2019, detailing the mountain’s network of peaks, runs, trails and village.  Because the mountain has evolved so much in the last decade, this needed to be updated and refreshed.  All four peaks and the village were covered in intricate detail in a grid pattern to allow an artist to painstakingly reproduce the images in drawings and paintings.  The other part of the shoot involved new marketing material for a variety of uses, and this is where I had my fun!  Always a treat for me to once again work with Christina Antoniak, Marketing & Communications Director who is the absolute best to team up with, and joining me in the heli was Sam Loxton, Content Marketing Specialist, helping me immensely with details and logistics.

Total flight time, a little over an hour and a half.  Hats off to our pilot, Phil at Highland for doing a great job!  This was such a fantastic gig to wrap before Christmas 🙂

Enjoy the images below and enjoy your New Years!  To see more of my work, visit my portfolio here.
