When I was given the opportunity to work on this stunning piece of property, south of Knutsford, near Kamloops, BC, (160 acres to to be exact) along with a beautiful woman, who I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with on many occasions, I was gob-smacked! Add to that a couple of equine hotties and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend a sunset.
We’d been chatting for a bit about the scenario so I had a pretty good idea about what I wanted to accomplish, but when you see something for the first time, often you’re left with a slightly altered creative vision; such was the case here, and that was a good thing. After a tour of the property on a side by side we decided on a plan involving locales and clothing choices. I wanted to shoot with back-light mostly to create a more dramatic effect, and I also wanted to implement some new lighting techniques. We were joined by a friend of Valerie’s, Jo, who was a huge help with the horses, and also just good company 🙂
Here are some images that hopefully allow you to see the scenario being played out, the dramatic lighting, the expansiveness of the landscape and the beauty of all the elements coming together can have. Enjoy.
