A week at the 'Peaks' - Client: Sun Peaks Resort

Spending time and working with the great people of Sun Peaks Resort is always something I look forward to.  So, last week was even more special when I was able to go up and spend a few days on two separate shoots:  The first one was the The Alpine Fondue & Starlight Descent. (see the link for full details).  The mid-mountain lodge has been totally refurb[...]

Carlyn - Chic in the Village

Carlyn and I originally chatted about getting our shoot done about a month ago.  But as fate would have it, we had to put it on the back burner for a bit due to our schedules.  We'd chatted enough and had a ton of concepts ready that whatever the weather was doing (and it snowed  in the village the day before),  we were ready to give it a go.  As it turned o[...]

Teneille, By Nature

I first met Teneille four years ago during a tourism shoot in Kamloops; a motorcycle shoot actually, on Harleys.  It was fantastic, either I was on the back of one shooting over the rider's shoulder, or shooting from the bed of my truck as we led the way with the two bikes following.  When we touched base again we chatted about her style, comfort level, loca[...]

Ashley - Electric Blue

I've had a bit of a hidden gem of a location in my back pocket for a long time now, probably 10 years or more.  It's close but quiet and thought it would make the perfect fall backdrop for Ashley.  She's a nature lover and I was pretty sure she'd be in her element for our shoot.  One thing about portraiture that's so true is that if someone's comfortable the[...]

Kelowna's 'Indigenous World Winery' Shoot.

The 'Indigenous World Winery' is a fascinating winery, located in West Kelowna, BC.  Robert Louie served as the Chief of the Westbank First Nation until 2016. He and his wife Bernice are the originators of the Indigenous World concept.  They are Okanagan Syilx descendants and have a strong passion for nature, the land, and the rich history and traditions of [...]

Client - Tourism Valemount for: Mt. Robson - 'Let the Mountain Move You'

Valemount's tag line is 'Let the Mountains Move You', and it works!  Surrounded by peaks in a pristine valley, with Mt. Robson Mere minutes away, I'm not sure it could be more suitable.  Thus the title for this blog, because on its own the tallest peak in the Canadian Rockies is capable of producing emotions that do just that, move you to the core.  So, when[...]

Radiant Bond - The Creation and Story

When I was given the opportunity to work on this stunning piece of property, south of Knutsford, near Kamloops, BC, (160 acres to to be exact) along with a beautiful woman, who I've had the pleasure of knowing and working with on many occasions, I was gob-smacked!  Add to that a couple of equine hotties and I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend a s[...]

Client - DentalCorp for Grasslands Dental Care

I've worked with the great people from Grasslands on a couple of other occasions, and is such the case here, it was time to capture some new faces on the team and also provide a bit of a refresh in a couple different areas.  To see more of my work, go to my portfolios here

My Favorites of 2016

The end is near for '16.  Some will be saddened and some will be ecstatic to see the calendar change.  For me it was an absolute mixture of every emotion under the sun.  My work (and play) was once again so good to me and it always provides me with vivid memories and smiles as I remember the variety of clients and jobs, the friends I share it with, unimagina[...]

The Making of 'Shangri la' - Village of Sun Peaks

In the fall of 2015 I was having conversations with some of the staff at Tourism Sun Peaks, mostly with their then Marketing Coordinator, Christina Antoniak about new and dynamic ways in which to portray the village.  I was literally wracking my creative brain trying from all angles to visualize a way in which we could incorporate the village and Tod Mountai[...]
